Hedgehog’s Dilemma

He would parlay his penchant for speed into results
It wouldn’t take long
For things to reach the desired shape
To coalesce into something absolutely fantastic

But reality had a hard time catching up
He had to give it credit for trying
Reality was resilient despite its decrepitude
An old man chugged uphill
Ignoring the grass and dirt
Shrugging his shoulders at the chill
Flipping off anything new
Wondering when a comfortable religion
Would come around the bend again
